Jennifer and Harrison had a beautiful backyard wedding in Manakau, Horowhenua in February - here's a summary of their perfect day! Photos by Janelle from Kee-Sue Creative.

First look and wedding party photos

Starting at a neighbouring property that is an AirBnB, which just so happened to have the most stunning gardens imaginable, Jennifer and Harrison had their first look in the garden before their ceremony, reading letters they wrote to each other, and having the majority of their couples and wedding party photos before their ceremony.

Doing it this way meant they got to enjoy so much more time with their guests after their wedding ceremony, which was something that was important to them both.

The sunflower ceremony

Their ceremony was held in a beautiful yard at a family member's property, dressed in sunflowers that had been grown themselves!

Their celebrant Lucy (who is one of our recommended celebrants from our trusted vendors list) did a wonderful job of making their ceremony feel relaxed, personalised, short and sweet.

The sun was out in full force for this February wedding, but luckily there was a marquee in the field for the reception which provided ample cover.

The table settings and flowers looked absolutely STUNNING, I am obsessed with the simple, yet gorgeous setup, and the sage green table runners (photos below).

Wilson BBQ did the catering (and did a wonderful buffet-style dinner), followed by desserts and wedding cake made by friends of the couple - it looked divine!

Sunset

We snuck out for sunset photos with the newlyweds for 20 minutes to make the most of that gorgeous evening light, and was a great way to finish this perfect day!
