Photo and video highlights from Siobhan and Andy's gorgeous wedding day at Boomrock wedding & events venue in Wellington, captured by Janelle from Kee-Sue Creative, a husband-and-wife team for wedding photography and videography.

Boomrock is a stunning wedding and events venue in Wellington, on Boom Rock Road, just a short drive from Wellington CBD but feels like a world away, overlooking beautiful coastline and the vast sea.

You can get ready at their little boutique accommodation (for a small bridal party), have your ceremony, reception and wedding party photos all on site, meaning you needn't go far on your wedding day, which means you have more time to spend with your guests and make the most of your special day (which we love!).

Here are some of our favourite moments from Siobhan and Andy's wedding at Boomrock, easily one of our favourite venues to capture weddings at, and what you can expect photo-wise if you're planning to get married there yourself.

Getting ready

Siobhan was getting ready with her immediate family and bridal party at her family home in Upper Hutt, and portraits with her gorgeous doggo were important to her, so we started the day with her to capture some of the getting ready magic, before heading to Boomrock for the ceremony.

The weather was perfect - sunshine and very little wind - so the couple were able to have their ceremony overlooking the sea at the perfectly designed ceremony area at Boomrock.

A nod to the groom's Scottish heritage, a bagpiper played while the guests arrived and waited for the bride's entrance.

Rice paper confetti was thrown by guests at the couples' aisle exit - cascading down beautiful for the photos. If you're wanting confetti, rice paper is the best for photos and video!

After the ceremony we the seating was cleared by the Boomrock team, and we took a big group photo and family photos in front of the beautiful sea backdrop.

The reception and wedding party photos

After the wedding party had a drink and enjoyed some canapes and mingling with their guests, we snuck away for up to an hour for photos nearby.

We kept the photos short and sweet so the couple and their wedding party could get the party started at the reception, which is large, rustic and has a great flow with long tables.

Later on after many of the formalities, we snuck out with the couple for their sunset portraits for 20 minutes or so, capturing some beautiful moments between them, before they returned to celebrate with their guests and get ready for their first dance underneath the festoon lights outside by the fire.
